Going on a trip, we are looking for new impressions. But sometimes during our wanderings there are special points that change us forever and sometimes – our fate. Three sincere first -person stories.
Leave, fly away, sail, rise, penetrate, go down. Some of us know well what exactly is looking for on a journey, others have only a vague idea of where the road will lead them. We can go on the road as tourists, find ourselves on a business trip or leave in search of a new spiritual experience.
But be it in the Israeli kibbutz or mountain monastery, prehistoric dolmens or modern mosque, we can suddenly survive the strongest emotions. In any spiritual journey, regardless of its conditions and results, there are always special points that leave an unexpected mark in our soul.
Catherine loved to visit Israel, and these trips changed her worldview. Marina professionally studied the life of the indigenous people of Tanzania, and gained a different sense of time and changed the rhythm of her own life. Irina searched for extreme adventures in Tibet, prepared a series of photos to present them on the travelers’ forum, and as a result, her communication with close people became others.
Three women honestly talk about their experience. They are laconic and forget to mention that they had to endure confusion, despair, doubts, before discovering what they simply did not notice before. The meeting is no less amazing than a love story.
"Now many troubles seem ridiculous to me"
I have been an anthropologist and have been studying the differences in the behavior of people for many years, the features of their psychology and worldview, depending on what culture they belong to. Eight years ago, I arrived to the north of Tanzania, where traditional breeding tribes live – Datoga. And although before the trip I read a lot of scientific works about them, life among Datog has become a cultural shock for me.
A week later I lost a feeling of real time. How much am I here – day, month, year? What is today, what day of the week? I began to make mistakes often, even if I fixed the numbers in the field diary. After all, my Datog friends do not wear hours and do not understand why I am constantly in a hurry, why I am offended if they are late for a meeting for an hour, instead of relaxing in the shadow of trees in the morning or evening breeze. When I at first shit them for non -launching, they said: “Field, Marina. Field " – which means" do not worry, calm down, everything is fine ".
Time, from their point of https://farmakeioellada24.com/ view, is viscous and endless. Datog can understand the temporary interval “at dawn”, or “at noon”, or “at sunset”, but attempts to agree on a meeting in an hour or half an hour will be unsuccessful. Gradually, this length of time, its division into large segments according to significant and clear signs entered my habits, became its.
Because of life in Africa, I began to evaluate the meaning of what is happening differently. So, the question of the imminent beginning of the rain season is striking in its relevance, because the repair of huts, the remoteness of the camps – yes literally the life and safety of the whole settlement depend on it. And what used to be so significant for me – troubles at work, household problems, irritation from traffic jams on Moscow roads – even upon returning home seems vain, funny and ridiculous.
"I gained a special connection with those I love"
Irina, 38 years old, climbed to the sacred Mount Kylash, Western Tibet
In Tibet, I did not meet miracles – flying yogis, the mirrors of time … But the journey to Mount Kalyash forever changed me. The first days I felt nothing but fatigue. Indeed, due to the low oxygen content in the atmosphere, even familiar activity requires incredible efforts. In addition, I suffered from the lack of elementary living conditions: ten days without a shower, overnight in clothes, unusual food.
But the moment came when I suddenly felt a surge of strength and amazing clarity of consciousness.
Maybe these are mountains that condenses the natural energy of the Earth in themselves, shared it with me?
At the foot of Kalysh, I clearly realized that for happiness I need very little, and I already have a little.
Beloved people who at that time were thousands of kilometers from me. I thought about each of them, and I managed to feel their emotions, understand thoughts.
And at the same time, during the ascent, I was able to part with those who were superfluous in my life. Right near Kalyash, I parted with a friend with whom I was friends for ten years – we just stopped talking. There, I realized that half a year ago I was in vain offended my good friend, in vain moved away from her, and I sent SMS to her right from Tibet, asked for forgiveness. And now we have restored friendship.
After this trip, I realized how important it is to trust myself and believe in myself, but to remain a modest and kind person is the right path to getting everything from life that you really dream of.
"Here I felt that God is one for all people"
I went to Israel with my husband more than once – he had work at work and, in addition, his sister lives there, with pleasure we were visiting. But I wanted to return there again and again. At first glance, this need was explained by a simple desire to relax in a warm country, where the sun and sea, where there are many those who speak Russian: staying in their environment-it is important for me. But now I think that this is not only about this.
I felt a magical attraction of this place. Maybe because history, religion, culture of three continents – Europe, Asia and Africa came together here. Or maybe because the promised land is really a special place.
I noticed that in Israel I do not talk about whether the narratives of the Bible and the Gospel are real, but I live there with my heart. It is important for me that this is the earth on which Christ stepped. In the temple of the Holy Sepulcher, I literally feel pain, and I have tears from pity for him – crucified on the cross.
However, it was in Israel, communicating with representatives of different faiths, I realized: most often we adhere to the faith that our ancestors adopted. And we are born in another place, there could be a completely different religion there traditional. In fact, God is one for all people – Christians, Jews, Muslims … On the promised earth, I manage to renounce the attributes of one church, to be over confessional prejudices. And then I feel the closest to him, I can sincerely trust my worries and aspirations.
For me, the citizens of Russia and the Russian by blood – another lesson of Israel is also important. We are talking about the unification of Jews around the world in one country. It is here that you realize the significance of this national idea, not only for the self -identification of an entire people, but for understanding the value of each person, his life and security. There is no such idea in Russia, and it is difficult for us to believe in unconditional uniqueness – our own and other people.
